| Job Description : | Chief Executive / CEO (Wildlife & Environmental Charity) Wales (flexible location) 40,000After the Second World War many people were horrified by the loss of wildlife resulting from the development and intensification of agriculture. In response to this, trusts were set up in the UK to help save special places and influence future decision-making. In this CEO role you will have the responsibility for all aspects of leadership, strategic development, external relations and internal management of the charity. Internally, you will be expected to foster excellent cooperative working relationships throughout the 6 Trusts in Wales, as well as with the other Trusts across the UK. Externally, you will be expected to develop strategic partnerships to promote and extend the work and influence of the Trusts in Wales and the UK. This will involve developing and enhancing relationships with key strategic partners, including The Welsh Assembly Government, local authorities, funding agencies, commercial supporters and other environmental NGO’s. In overseeing the strategic development of the organisation, you will prepare long-term development plans, annual work plans, marketing plans, budgets and draft policies for approval by the board of trustees. You will also be accountable for ensuring that all internal management systems continue to deliver the set objectives. Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with professional experience within the not- for-profit sector. Most importantly, you will have a background of strategic and operational marketing, fundraising, communications and PR. It is also essential that you have previously been responsible for donor relationship management and the closure of large scale bids. Our client is looking for an inspirational leader who can influence and empower others. You will be able to take from your experience of managing staff and budgets in a pressurised environment and use this to lead and manage charity operations. Current awareness of nature conservation issues and background environmental and ecological knowledge is also desirable. Networx is not a typical agency.
